"Gravity" movie - Hubble concepts

Designs for a new section of the Hubble Telescope that features in the opening sequence of the movie "Gravity"; George Clooney and Sandra Bullock's characters are undergoing a maintenance mission on the Telescope when disaster strikes. I've also included some of the emergency-release handle concepts I explored, which were required for detaching the Hubble from the Space Shuttle not long into the movie.

Modelled in Cinema 4D. Textures created in Illustrator and Photoshop. Final compositing done in Photoshop.
