Summary

ABOUT
I am an award-winning, highly experienced and extremely versatile concept artist and art director. I have been producing cutting-edge concept art for two decades, and have been involved in numerous high profile projects, including an Oscar winning film, helping develop Billion-dollar tech companies, and contributing to the design of the ‘new’ iconic London bus.

Having initially studied as an industrial designer, I’ve since had a wide and varied career as a film & video-game concept artist, vehicle designer, and video game graphic artist. I am passionate about producing quality designs that are more than just surface-deep; I carefully consider a project’s requirements from all perspectives.

I have helped both small and large teams achieve their visions quickly, and worked on projects with tight time-lines and limited resources. I tackle my work with enthusiasm and always strive for a very high quality-bar. I have mentored fellow team members, and enjoy collaborating with colleagues and clients; helping them visualise their projects to completion.

WORK HISTORY
IMPROBABLE (2012-24) - Principal Concept Artist.
As a company co-founder, I was directly involved with helping initially raise $502M, and a further $150M ‘Metaverse’ raise; I took complicated technical concepts and turned them into more easily digestible visuals & content.

During my time at Improbable I initially served as the sole concept artist, and worked on numerous video game proposals across various genres. As the company expanded, my role grew from Senior to Principal Concept Artist, and I took on additional responsibilities, including Art Direction. I generated tens of thousands of designs, concept artworks and presentations during my 11+ years at the company.

I was at the forefront of helping visualise, ideate and creatively direct a myriad of projects for the video game, metaverse and defence divisions, many being undertaken to very strict time-lines, with very small teams.

Some stand-out projects:
‘Ion’ - directing the trailer for the (unreleased) sci-fi RPG space-station game, which premiered at E3,
‘Survival’ - art direction, concept art & GUI design for a vast sci-fi FPS, demonstrated publicly at GDC,
‘Alexa’ - concept art (environment and character) for the K-Pop stars virtual Metaverse experience,
‘MLB’ - designing the Virtual Baseball Stadium for their new Metaverse events.

GRAVITY (film: 2010-11 - Oscar Winning) - Concept Artist
Designing sets and props for Alfonso Cuaron’s sci-fi thriller.

LONDON NAVIGATOR (2008) - Vehicle Designer.
My design proposal for the next London Bus. Boris Johnson awarded me as one of the top-4 design winners. My ‘London Navigator’, along with the other winner’s designs (Aston Martin, Foster+Partners), has collectively inspired the visuals of the ‘New Routemaster’ bus, released in 2011.

THE SPECTRUM RETREAT (video game: 2017) - Art Director
I was art director and sole concept artist for the mind-bending first-person 3D sci-fi puzzle game, including environments (Art Deco hotel and sci-fi puzzle rooms), characters, props and interactive elements.

PLURALITY (sci-fi film: 2011-12) - AR & GUI Designer.
VISTEON (2011) - 2D & 3D Automotive Interface Designer.
NOVATIQ (2011) - Military Robot Concept Designer.
ACTRONICS AUTOMOTIVE (2010) - 2D & 3D Automotive Interface Designer.

NORMA COM (2005-10) - Graphic Design & Concept Artist.
Designer & Art Director for Electronic Arts’ UK and international marketing projects. Design work included marketing visuals, branding, graphic-design, 3D concept designs, and 3D interactive experiences for many of EA’s biggest franchises (e.g. “The Sims”, “FIFA” & “Need For Speed”).

PERSONAL WORK
TERMINATOR: HUNTER KILLER (2021) - Director & Creator (over 2.5M views to date).
My ‘love letter’ to ‘The Terminator’ movie (1984). Created entirely in Cinema 4D, predominantly using free 3D models. I built vast post-apocalyptic environments, and more intimate 3D ‘sets’. In addition to the 3D work, I handled all editing, lighting, VFX, SFX, & music-mixing.
