"Gravity" movie - Soyuz concepts

Soyuz space capsule designs I created for the movie "Gravity". The script required George Clooney's character to enter the capsule via a side hatch, and Sandra Bullock's character to subsequently jettison herself out via the same hatch using an emergency-release system, which needed to be designed and sympathetically incorporated into the existing Soyuz aesthetic.

Modelled and rendered in Cinema 4D. Decals and graphics created in Illustrator. Touch-ups done in Photoshop. (I can't recall if the Russian text I placed on the hatch and emergency release handle were real instructions or not.)
